It’s 6.30am, and the family WhatsApp group has already travelled continents. A sunrise in Chandigarh. Tulips in Austin. The Bhagavad Gita in Dubai. “ Good Morning” in questionable fonts (Aunty Maya, we see you).
By 10am, there’s a medical breakthrough involving ginger. By 2pm, a scam warning no one can quite verify. Somewhere in between, something about science in ancient India. By evening, that cousin has replied 👍 to it all.
We roll our eyes. Threaten to mute.
But heaven help the day the messages stop.
Because in a scattered diaspora life, this is our courtyard. We don’t gather – we simply appear.
