On #26January, we pause to reflect on our adopted home - a land shaped by over 60,000 years of continuous culture and history.

We honour the deep connection of First Nations peoples to this land, and recognise the challenges this day represents for many.

Australia’s story is layered - shaped by First Nations custodianship, the contributions of settlers who built its institutions and communities, and migrants who continue to add to its social, cultural and economic fabric.

We hold space for the different meanings this day carries.

As migrants and settlers, this land has welcomed us, given us opportunity, and allowed us to belong and contribute. For that, we are #grateful - and commit to listening, learning, and honouring its past, present and future as we walk forward together.

Academics, medical professionals and civic champions dominate this year’s list, with women notably under-represented.
